Baub's Artist Statement and Bio


My mission is to turn the world, one page at a time. My goal is to utilize my art and gifts as a tool to uplift, motivate and inspire folks in all walks of life; by speaking directly to the self-esteem of the public. Eye want to touch all senses of the imagination in hopes to open minds, hearts, spirits, and souls. My ultimate objective is to make God’s entire world a better place to live as originally intended.   


Baub Bidon is a Haitian African American, Poet, Actor, Playwright and sometimes Comedian. “BORN IN AMERICA, BUT MY HEAD REST IN HAITI AND DREAMS AFRICA” Baub was born In New Haven, CT. He is the 8 child of 10 children. Baub is first generation American. Both of his parents are Haitian Immigrants. What started as rapping, beatboxing, and dancing amongst friends, has evolved into Comedy, Acting and performance poetry. From performing and Hosting at the Jokers Wild Comedy Club, the Yale Repertory stage of King Lear, staring Avery Brooks, to a Music videos Staring Pharoah Monch Simon Says, directed by Busta Rhymes. Hot Boyz Staring Missy Elliot, Featuring Eve, Lil Mo, Q-Tip, and Nas. Your Child, staring Mary J Blige. Baub’s film credits includes: Another Earth, Men In Black II, The Boy Who Saw Christ. Theater: Jesus Hopped the A’ Train. Baub Portrayed Jesus in The Resurrection, written by Kenya Cagle and Directed By Michele Hawkins Jones, also Honorable Distinction as Frederick Douglas, written by Kenya Cagle and directed by Michele Hawkins Jones. Baub is one of six Playwrights of the Production What It Iz/The Spokenwordical: an adaption of the 1979 classic The Wiz. Baub has performed for over two decades as a Performance poet throughout the United States. He is the author of Aglimpse/Spokenword In Back Pockets, and a CD by the same name, a short story The Man and the Seed. Baub is also the founder of Free 2 Spit…est. 2004: an Open Mic Poetry based venue in New Haven, CT.
